Paul Mccarthy Scam - Phone Scam?

Phone scams are a common occurrence that preys on unsuspecting individuals. Paul McCarthy, an attorney from California, defines phone scams as “any callers who contact you for the purpose of deceiving or swindling you out of your money”. Phone scammers generally use high-pressure tactics and intimidating language to convince people to send them money or give away private information such as bank account details, social security numbers, etc.

The most common type of phone scam is the imposter scam where criminals pretend to be a legitimate business or government agency in order to defraud someone. They may try to solicit personal information or payments in exchange for services they never provide. Another type of phone scam is the robocall which involves automated calls made by computers that are programmed with pre-recorded messages attempting to sell products and services or obtain personal information from the recipient.
